Week 3 Update - We have been busy!

On June 17 Creative Computers had an exciting fieldtrip to Adobe Systems Inc.  We went to 4 different stations about Adobe software and computers in general.  Students learned about green screen technology and got to make a short clip with a cool background powered by Premiere Pro.  The students went to learn about web design using the program Adobe Dreamweaver. There were roles to play as we managed different steps in web site production.  We learned what algorithms are and how to use one to solve a problem.  The problem they used was trying to figure out a number between 1 and 1000 in ten guesses or less.  There is a way to do it!  The last station was learning computer programming in the language of Python.  We all had a lot of fun and learned new things.

There are many projects to finish during the last week.  The Ejournal, Selfportrait slide show, Photoshop, Trifold brochure, Ice Cream Truck, Cruncher, website, and more.  We also learned the history of computers and software development.

Good luck with all of your computing!

Off and Running

The Creative Computers class is off and running.   The students are very cooperative this year.  We have introduced projects using Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, and Publisher.  Exploration with Photoshop and The Ice Cream Truck has been fun.  Our "Question the Expert" activity has led to discussion about geocaching, trumpet, clarinet, Greek mythology, and soccer.

Thanks go out to all of our supportive families from Mr. Johnsen and Will the T.A.
